Learn Sewing privacy policy
Learn Sewing is published by Rstream Labs. This policy explains how we handle information when you use Learn Sewing. Contact us at contact.rstreamlabs@gmail.com about privacy, access, correction or deletion requests.
You can use Learn Sewing without signing in. Optional sign-in lets you keep your learning progress and saved work across devices. We use analytics and reliability services to understand app use and fix problems, and a subscription service to manage purchases. Course videos use YouTube, which handles information under Google's privacy policy.
Information we handle
- Account information: if you sign in using Google, or Apple on iPhone/iPad, we receive your account identifier and the name/email information provided by that service. Authentication services also process tokens and technical information needed to secure your account.
- Learning information: preferences, onboarding choices, courses and lessons completed, streaks, favourites and other learning activity. This is stored on your device and synced to our service when you sign in.
- Photos you choose: you can add a photo of your work using your device's image picker. The app compresses and saves it to your private gallery. Signing in allows saved gallery images to sync across your devices. Photos are optional and are not published to an app-hosted public feed.
- Usage and device information: interaction events, app version, device/operating-system information and installation/customer identifiers. Analytics services may derive approximate location from your IP address. If you sign in, some usage information is associated with your account identifier.
- Purchases: subscription, transaction, entitlement and purchase history information. Apple or Google handles payment; Learn Sewing does not receive your card number. RevenueCat helps us validate purchases, restore access and understand subscription performance. Its customer identifier can be associated with your signed-in account.
- Reliability information: crash/error reports, technical logs and measurements of app/network performance. These help us diagnose failures and improve the app.
- Notifications: local learning reminders use the notification settings you choose. Firebase notification infrastructure may process installation identifiers and notification tokens. You can turn reminders off through your device settings.
- Video services: YouTube receives technical information, including your IP address and device/player information, when video content is loaded or played, and information about video interactions. Its services may use cookies or similar technologies under Google's policy.
The app's learning functionality does not request precise location, contacts, microphone recording or health information.
Why we use it and who receives it
We use this information to provide lessons, personalize your learning, sync your saved work, authenticate you, manage subscriptions, secure our services, measure usage and diagnose faults.
We use Google Firebase for authentication, analytics, crash reports, remote app configuration and notification infrastructure, and on Apple devices for performance monitoring. We use RevenueCat for subscription management and related analytics. These services receive the information necessary for their roles, under their applicable service terms and privacy arrangements. Apple and Google also process information for sign-in and store purchases under their own terms.
YouTube handles video-player information under Google's privacy policy. Learn Sewing uses YouTube API/player services; their use is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. Information handled by YouTube is separate from the account and learning information held by Learn Sewing.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to protect our services and users. Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to the safeguards in their applicable agreements.
Your choices
Sign-in, adding photos, purchasing a subscription and enabling reminders are optional. The app supports analytics consent controls for users in the EEA and UK. Reliability and essential service processing are separate from optional analytics consent. You can use the app signed out; services needed for analytics, reliability and subscriptions can still process technical information without a signed-in account.
Deletion and retention
You can request deletion in the app through You > Delete account, or follow the instructions on our Learn Sewing account deletion page. You can also contact us by email. We may need to verify that a request concerns your account before deleting it.
For signed-in users, the app first asks our sync service to delete the account's learning state and saved gallery. It then asks the authentication service to delete the sign-in account and clears app-owned local data. If a step fails, follow the app's retry or reauthentication instructions. An offline request may require reopening the app with an internet connection; do not assume deletion finished until the app confirms it without a remaining account-deletion warning.
For signed-out users, the in-app deletion/reset function clears app-owned local data. This does not by itself remove records previously collected by analytics, crash-reporting, subscription or video services. Contact us for assistance with those records. Uninstalling the app does not delete a signed-in server account.
We retain account and synced learning information while it is needed to provide your account, unless you request deletion. Some information may remain in backups until those backups expire. Service providers apply retention periods appropriate to their services. Purchase/accounting, fraud-prevention, security or legally required records may be retained where necessary; aggregated or deidentified statistics may also remain. We will explain any applicable exception when handling your request.
Deleting your Learn Sewing account does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Cancel subscriptions separately in your store subscription settings.
Security and rights
We use encrypted transport for account, sync, subscription and Firebase service requests and restrict access to our systems. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your information, withdraw consent, or complain to your data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Age and changes
Learn Sewing's launch audience is adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can investigate and handle deletion appropriately.
We will update this policy when our data practices change and show the effective date of the update.
